At one point, a friend even got him a membership at Matunga Gymkhana so he could use the facilities in the morning.
The veteran actor candidly shared that he often didn’t know where his next meal would come from or where he would find a place to sleep. Despite his hardships, he didn’t want to shatter the dreams of those who were also striving to succeed, fearing they might lose hope upon hearing his story.
When asked about moments of despair during those tough times, Mithun Chakraborty admitted that there was a time when he felt he couldn’t make it. He even contemplated suicide at one point. However, returning to Calcutta was not an option due to his political background, and he felt stuck, unable to make any significant progress.
