Nana Patekar, who is currently busy promoting Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Vaccine War’, recently expressed his dissatisfaction with a song from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie. Nana revealed that he simply picked up the phone and conveyed his feelings to Bhansali directly.
After a gap of nearly 4-5 years, Nana Patekar is making a comeback to the film industry with ‘The Vaccine War’. In the movie, he portrays the character of Doctor Bhargava, the brilliant mind behind the creation of the COVID-19 vaccine. The film’s trailer was released on Tuesday and Nana’s performance has undeniably captured everyone’s attention, sparking conversations about his much-awaited return.
In an exclusive conversation, Nana Patekar emphasized the importance of maintaining accuracy in films based on true stories. According to him, if a film claims to be inspired by real incidents, it must adhere to the truth without any discrepancies. He further mentioned that when something is portrayed as a true story, it becomes essential to question the creators about any deviations from reality. Nana referred to Bhansali’s films in this context, expressing his dissatisfaction with the song ‘Malhari’. He admitted to directly contacting Bhansali to voice his opinion about the song, stating that he didn’t find it appealing and felt the need to let the director know. He made it clear that his own likes or dislikes outweighed any concerns about public opinion.
‘The Vaccine War’ is a medical thriller film directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Pallavi Joshi. It revolves around the true story of the development of Covaxin during the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
