Undoubtedly, this has become the year of Shah Rukh Khan and we are simply living in it. Our admiration for the unapologetic Badshah of Bollywood is constant and unwavering. He started the year by ending his four-year hiatus from the big screen with Pathaan, rejuvenating the Box Office’s lost sparkle. Now, he is set to captivate audiences once again with his highly anticipated film Jawan. While love for Khan fills the air, his political stance in the movie has made him even braver than before.
Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Atlee, boasts a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani. The film has caused a frenzy at the Box Office, estimating over 100 crore in its first weekend alone, surpassing Khan’s personal record set by Pathaan. However, Jawan is not only about Box Office success, it also showcases Shah Rukh Khan’s bold political stance, adding a layer of metanarrative to the film.
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, known for his fascination with the world of gangsters as reflected in his films Shootout At Lokhandwala, Kaante, and Mumbai Saga, has recently watched Jawan and is showering praises on Shah Rukh Khan. The involvement of gangsters and dons in the film industry during the 90s is a widely discussed topic. Gupta took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his admiration for Khan’s resilience against the reign of gangsters.
“I saw Jawan. I feel compelled to share this. Back in the 90’s, when the underworld’s bullying of film stars was at its peak, Shah Rukh Khan was the only star who never gave in. He boldly proclaimed, ‘You can shoot me, but I won’t work for you. I am a Pathan.’ And he remains the same to this day,” Sanjay Gupta wrote.
Jawan is now showing in theaters, awaiting the audience’s arrival. If you’re still uncertain about buying a ticket, read our review on Celebtrends for more information. Stay tuned for further updates!
