While James Gunn is currently focused on shaping the new era of DCU, the movies from the old timeline are facing challenges when it comes to their performance at the box office. Despite Blue Beetle managing to have a decent run, The Flash, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, and Black Adam have struggled to be successful. Now, the attention turns to Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, also known as Aquaman 2. Unfortunately, recent reports have shed negative light on the film starring Jason Momoa and Amber Heard.
For those who may not know, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom is the highly-awaited sequel to the highest-grossing DC and Warner Bros. movie for a solo project. However, this film has been plagued by controversy due to reshoots, delays, and the ongoing legal battle between Heard and her former husband, Johnny Depp, which she lost.
The negativity surrounding Aquaman 2 has already created resistance among the audience, and the latest report suggests that Warner Bros. has lost hope in the project. This is why they have refrained from investing in promoting the movie, despite its release being just a couple of months away with no teaser in sight.
Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, or Aquaman 2, is set to release on December 20, 2023. Surprisingly, there has been no promotional material or trailer released yet. When a user pointed this out, scoopster KC Walsh wrote, “Because they know it’s bad, they know it’ll lose money, and they aren’t putting a marketing budget behind it at all.”
With the delays, reshoots, and now the absence of any trailers or teasers, Aquaman 2 is facing more difficulties. Celebtrends will keep you updated on any further developments.
