Russell Brand’s name has been removed from the websites of his publicist, MBC PR, and talent agency, Tavistock Wood. However, despite these changes, his sold-out comedy show in London is still scheduled to take place on Saturday.
This comes after news broke that the comedian had been accused by four women of rape, sexual assault, and emotional and physical abuse. Fans noticed that his name was no longer appearing on the websites of his representatives, who also work with notable figures like Madonna, Mark Ronson, and Foo Fighters.
Despite the controversy surrounding him, Russell’s performance of his show, ‘Bipolarisation’, at Troubadour Wembley Park in London is still being promoted as happening. Coinciding with this, a major Channel 4 investigation into the comedian will be airing at 9pm UK time.
Previously, little was known about the documentary’s topic, but it has now been revealed that it will be called ‘Russell Brand: In Plain Sight’. The show is set to start at 7pm and last for nearly two hours.
According to reports, his upcoming sold-out show at the Theatre Royal Windsor in London on Tuesday is also still expected to go ahead. It’s believed that MBC PR still represents Russell, despite his name being removed from their website.
Fans have expressed their surprise that the gig on Saturday is still proceeding, with one jokingly asking for a refund so they can watch the Channel 4 documentary instead. Russell’s planned shows in Plymouth on Friday and Wolverhampton on September 28 are also currently listed as going ahead.
Russell’s ‘Bipolarisation’ tour tackles topics such as “rules and rule breaking” as well as “democracy and freedom,” with conclusions being drawn from live audience polling. Given his reputation for incorporating personal experiences into his shows, fans expect him to address the allegations against him during Saturday’s performance.
