Demi Lovato made a surprise appearance as the first star unmasked on the new season of ‘The Masked Singer’. The singer, known for hits like “29”, performed on the season premiere as Anonymouse, singing “What About Love” by Heart. The performance was a promotion for her upcoming album ‘Revamped’, which features ten of her hits with a rock’n’roll twist.
Demi, who is 31 years old, gave several clues about her identity while disguised. She stated, “When I found out that ‘The Masked Singer’ needed a mystery guest for their milestone 10th season, I knew I was the right rodent for the job. I started my career at a young age, but my breakthrough came when I was able to showcase my voice.
Despite appearing successful on the outside, I struggled with personal demons. The more I pushed, the more I felt myself slipping away. I found myself making wrong decisions and hitting rock bottom. However, this wake-up call made me realize that I have so much more life to live.
Now, my mission is to find joy wherever I can, and that’s exactly what I’m doing here. It’s about time I showed up. You all have been guessing my identity for the past nine seasons, but when this mask comes off, you’ll see that there’s no one like me.”
Before Demi’s identity was revealed, the judges – Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke – speculated on who the mystery guest could be. They guessed names like Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Ariana Grande, with Ken eventually guessing Demi correctly.
After her identity was revealed, Demi expressed her excitement at participating in the show, saying, “I wanted to do your show because it seemed so fun. And it has been so fun. And I get to sing, so it’s the best of both worlds.”
When asked how they knew it was Demi, the judges praised her voice and talent. Demi thanked them for their kind words and expressed her gratitude for the energy from the audience.
